It’s dining room season!
November is here and it’s the Dining Room’s time to shine!
Even if you do use your Dining Room daily like the Johnson family does, the room still becomes a busy place during the holidays so it’s worth setting the table in a festive way so that it can stand out from the norm!
To me, a table setting is like designing a room but with instant gratification.
Here are some tips on how to create a fun tablescape:
Use layers of unexpected textiles. I also like to use a variety of textures (ceramic, metal, linen, wood) just like I would when decorating and accessorizing a room. On the board below, I have included all of these elements.
When you’re setting your table, get EVERYTHING out and just play around with it. One Christmas I put a navy ikat runner with red and green tartan plates and washed wood chargers and somehow it all just worked, but I wouldn’t have known it if I hadn’t tried it.
When you wash your table linens, take them out of the dryer when they’re still damp. Fold the dinner napkins and smooth out the wrinkles. They will dry like that with crisp lines. For the placemats, lay them flat and they will dry without wrinkles.
Below you will find some products to help you add to your tabletop collection. Plus, some of my favorite dining chars, a cost effective rug, and a chandelier that’s sure to draw comments from Aunt Edna!
